The project comprised a new 17 metre Observation Tower and refurbishment of the Tranmer House visitor centre at the Scheduled Ancient Monument site of Sutton Hoo. The site is home to the Anglo- Saxon royal burial ground for King Rædwald, comprised of 17 burial mounds and the surrounding landscape. The project went on to win a RIBA East Award, RIBA National Award, Galvanizers’ Association Architecture Award and the Alternative Stirling Prize.
