On Monday 21 October 2025, Natalie, her adorable daughter, and I had an unforgettable experience visiting the Chelmsford Fire Station. It was a day filled with excitement, learning, and heartfelt appreciation for the brave firefighters who dedicate their lives to keeping us safe.

The day started with a warm welcome from the fire station staff, who gave us a quick overview of the station’s vital work. Then came the fun — we explored the fire trucks, checked out the equipment, and got a behind-the-scenes look at the station’s facilities. We also watched a live demonstration of firefighting techniques, which was both educational and awe-inspiring. The firefighters then shared stories during a Q&A, giving us a personal glimpse into their daily bravery and commitment.

One of the most heartwarming moments was watching Natalie’s daughter have so much fun engaging with the firefighters. She was eagerly involved in the activities — she got to sit on the fire truck, enjoy a sweet treat, and even take part in water spraying training with the firefighters, who kindly showed her how to use the hose. Her laughter and excitement truly reminded us of the importance of community and the joy of inspiring the next generation.

Meanwhile, Natalie and I had the chance to go down the fire pole and see where the firefighters sleep and relax when on duty. It was incredible to see the environment that supports such demanding and dangerous work — a real testament to their dedication and teamwork.

The day wrapped up with a community photo session, where everyone could thank the firefighters and snap some memorable pictures. We also discussed ways to stay involved and support their vital work. It was a perfect reminder of how strong and supportive our community can be.

This visit was extra special for Natalie and her daughter, who is running the London Landmarks Half Marathon to support the Fire Fighters Charity. Her dedication to supporting these heroes is truly inspiring — and every little bit of support makes a difference.

A huge thank you to the amazing team at Chelmsford Fire Station for their generosity, bravery, and for sharing their world with us. Your service and courage inspire us all.
